Vik's monologue draws a lot from the anonymous Anglo-Saxon Poem 'The Wanderer" (and mostly from Michael Alexander's translation), and from J.R.R. Tolkien's similar poem recited in "The Two Towers".
This was the first strip I wrote (in terms of a dialogue draft), so I was still figuring out characters. Although I feel like Vik is perfectly introduced, I want to replace Scot with Lee, on the grounds that Scot wouldn't care about messes, wouldn't be doing laundry, and wouldn't correct the behavior of others.
This is my first comic, written sometime around June 1, 2009.
